Dingell is currently vice-chair of the General Motors Foundation at General Motors. She is an active civic and community leader in both Michigan and Washington, D.C. She is particularly focused on ethical issues and social responsibility as it relates to government and business. Dingell is a recognized national advocate for women and children and was the founding chair of the National Women’s Health Resource Center in Washington, DC. She is vice-chair of the Barbara Karmanos Cancer Center and serves on the Executive Committee where she co-chairs the Breast Cancer Committee and the Government Relations Committee. She is vice chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Members and Family Committee, and is vice president of the U.S. House of Representatives Child Day Care Center.
