ChildCare Commitment targets children, ages birth to five, from working disadvantaged families and provides financial support for their quality childcare and early education.
Eligible families receive 40 percent of the average annual cost of licensed care and education for one child per family for one year. Parents must be working full-time, attending college full-time or attending college and working part-time to be eligible. Families cannot be receiving state assistance. Income requirements range from approximately $19,000 for a family of two through $51,000 for a family of six.
ChildCare Commitment provides timely, targeted help where it is needed most. It is helping Michigan’s disadvantaged children get on a solid path, succeed in school, in life and later, at work.
